Utkarsh Mazumdar is a veteran of the stage. He has been doing theatre in English, Hindi and Gujarati for over 45 years. He is an actor, a singer and a director. He is a highly acclaimed name in theatre. He is a B.A. in English Literature, Kovid in Sanskrit, with a diploma in Mass Communication and a Certificate course in Television. Added to this he is a trained classical singer. 

He has been active on stage for more than 50 years where he has directed and produced plays and is known for his performances in all three language theatres. As a program Executive at Doordarshan Kendra, he produced and directed various programs. He has also made well-acclaimed documentaries. 

He has acted in many TV serials, films, and TV commercials. He is a singer and composer,  a Gujrati newspaper columnist and has taught Mass Communications at various institutes.
