Shelly Verma

Shelly Verma is a Performance storyteller, Spoken word artist, Story Coach and podcaster based in Switzerland. She grew up in India listening to and telling stories of kings, queens, animals, gods and goddesses and so much more. She carries these stories in her mind and her heart wherever she goes. Shelly works with traditional, contemporary and personal narratives to create stories that inspire social change, give voice to the unheard and make the unseen noticed. She has told at all sorts of venues including schools, libraries, clubs, Ignite Zurich, TEDx Basel, storytelling festivals and even woods and cemeteries at night enthralling both children and adults with her stories. She loves mythology and folklore from around the world and her recent work has been heavily focused on creating digital storytelling documentaries around ecology, our past and present relationships with nature and climate change for storytelling festivals around the world. Shelly believes stories allow us to connect to and relate to each other more deeply and meaningfully. And that is at the very heart and soul of what she does and why she does it.
